Stephen Malkmus - Church on White (Stephen Malkmus)

Bleed the pot
When you're hot you're hot
And when enough is enough
Do the fakers drop out?
Promise me
You will always be
Too awake to be famous
Too wired to be safe
But all you really wanted
Was everything
Plus everything
And the truth
I only poured you
Half a line

Carry on
It's a marathon
Take me off the list
I don't want to be missed
Carrion
Its what we all become
From small minds and tall trees
Away from the action
But all you ever wanted
Was everything
And everything
Plus the truth
I only poured you
Half alive
Half alive

I only poured you half a lie

Ya have to give it up after a while. Any Steppenwolf after 1974 is a joke. These Dinosaur bands just need $ and will play until they die or no one shows up for their gigs. Rock & Roll died a long time ago. I prefer the screams of a SM video now... Beat me Mistress stuff is great! TBD

"...an awesome live sound... ...heavy and funky at the same time..." Yep, absolutely so 'joe'. When they start 'trucking' @ around 3mins onwards it still makes my hairs stand on end!! The build to crescendo, then dropping it back down to build it up again...the beat, feedback, shouts from the crowd, it still hits the spot and gives me a fantastic buzz every time! ☺

Always loved this 'Wolf tune! Thanks, ELGROOVER! I saw the 'Wolf on Labor Day this year at the Nebraska State Fair. lineup: John Kay, Michael Wilk, Ron Hurst, Danny Johnson, and Gary Link on bass. Yes, George Biondo still plays, but hasn't gigged with the 'Wolf since they disbanded in the mid-70's.
